Training sessions occur each month for one week. MITs fly to the EDGE, located in Plano, TX, on Sunday and back to their host sales center on Friday afternoon. Classroom training introduces the MIT to:
Session 1 - The Company*
Advanced orientation of POOLCORP history, policies & procedures, support personnel functions and meet and greet with upper management including CEO and CFO.
Session 2 - The Operations
Warehouse layout and management, shipping and receiving, inventory controls, industrial distribution, and purchasing.
Session 3 - The Customer
Inside and outside sales, product knowledge, and marketing programs.
Session 4 - The People
Hiring, training, motivating and managing staff.
Session 5 - The Bottom Line
P&L review, price matrixing and other financial aspects.
Upon the conclusion of the program MITs will individually give a presentation to senior management discussing what they've learned and how they would like to grow their career with POOLCORP. MITs are then open to apply for positions within the company. Coordinating with Human Resources interviews will be conducted over the telephone and in person. Relocation assistance will be provided when accepting a new role in another location.
*Session 1 is held at the corporate office in Covington, LA
